Supporting young people to successfully transition from care to independence

About Us

Children and young people in care have had significant childhood trauma which can continue to impact their day-to-day living in adulthood.  They often have little to no positive family or friends support network.  The poor outcomes for  care leavers are well documented. They are over represented in adult mental health services, homeless and prison populations as well as having poor educational and health outcomes.  For these vulnerable young people with complex needs who often struggle with regulating emotions, being motivated and taking care of themselves, the move from living in local authority care to living independently can be devastating and can jeopardise their life chances.

This situation coupled with the current climate of rising care needs and budgetary constraints means the time is right for an innovative approach to providing young people a stable base as they approach adulthood.

Rusa Care is a new innovative supported accommodation service that helps local authorities deliver better outcomes for young people at a crucial time in their lives while delivering a value for money service.

Rusa Care is founded on the belief that with the right support, high expectations and consistency of adults most young people have the capability of living independently of the welfare system, developing a strong sense of self and a good work ethic.

We currently provide supported accommodation in Surrey but we would be happy to discuss your requirements with you should you be based elsewhere.
